The pad matters more than the turf
What makes a surface safe for children is not the grass, it is what sits underneath it. We install a closed-cell shock-absorbing pad between the compacted base and the turf, specified to the fall height of whatever equipment is going in above it.
The turf itself is chosen for resilience rather than softness — a medium pile that stands back up after a hundred children have run across it, in a yarn that does not shed or hold dust. And because there are no pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers anywhere in the system, it is a cleaner surface than a real lawn.

Is artificial turf safe for children?
A properly built system is safer than the compacted dirt it usually replaces. The shock pad absorbs falls, the surface is free of pesticides and herbicides, and there is no mud, no thorns and nothing sharp. Choose a lead-free, UV-stable product — which is what we specify.
Does it get hot?
In direct sun it warms up more than natural grass. Shade sails, tree cover and lighter yarn tones all help, and a two-minute rinse cools it immediately. For an exposed play area with no shade at all, we will tell you honestly what to expect.
How do I clean it?
Rinse it down, blow off leaves, and spot-clean spills with mild soap and water. Sand and food get brushed out. There is no mowing, watering or feeding at any point.
